Sportmediaset claims the Ivorian’s representatives are happy with the package on offer, which would see him earn £3.2m a year and bonuses over four years.

City would receive additional money from the Serie A outfit if the Italians qualify for the Champions League while Toure is at the club.

Despite establishing himself as an integral part of the Blues’ set-up since his arrival from Barcelona five years ago, Toure has come in for criticism this term after failing to live up to his previously exceptional standards.

At the age of 31 he potentially has one money-spinning transfer left to come, and Inter’s offer of a four-year contract would take him into the twilight of his career.

Toure has been part of a City team which has been eliminated from all knock-out competitions prematurely and fallen off the pace in the title race, leaving them in a fight to simply secure Champions League qualification.
