Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Mario Gotze this summer after reports from Bild that his agent is unhappy with his treatment by the club.

The German international, scorer of his country’s winning goal in last summer’s World Cup final win over Argentina, has not always reached his best form since moving to the Allianz Arena from Borussia Dortmund.

Additional information from the Daily Mirror states that the Gunners are keeping an eye on Gotze’s situation with the Bavarian giants, and the Daily Mail reported back in 2013 that the club have previously shown a strong interest in signing the talented young forward.

The 23-year-old could certainly fit in well into this Arsenal team, having scored 30 goals in the last two seasons, showing superb intelligence and technique that would see him make an ideal replacement for someone like Santi Cazorla, who has recently been linked with an exit from the Emirates Stadium amid interest from Atletico Madrid, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Arsenal have done better in the transfer market in recent years, landing big names like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, as well as bringing in Petr Cech from rivals Chelsea this summer, and Gotze would represent another huge coup to excite the fans in north London.
