Tottenham & West Ham in battle to sign £40m-rated Premier League winger

White Hart Lane and Upton Park outfits keen on Crystal Palace star.

Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham and Aston Villa are all interested in Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie according to Sky Sports.

The 26-year-old French-born DR Congo international enjoyed a superb run of form over the course of the second half of last season and interest in the Selhurst Park wideman isn’t surprising.

Sky Sports reports that Palace moved to scare off interest in Bolasie by slapping a mammoth £40 m price-tag on the former Bristol City man.

White Hart Lane boss Mauricio Pochettino saw a number of his current wide-attacking stars fail to impress last season and reports this summer have seen the likes of Erik Lamela [via the Daily Mirror], Aaron Lennon [via the Daily Telegraph] and Andros Townsend [via the Daily Mail] all linked with possible exits.

Meanwhile, Slaven Bilic has seen Stewart Downing, West Ham’s leading assist-maker in 2014/15, leave for Middlesbrough and could therefore see Bolasie as a potential replacement for the England international.

The East London side have however successfully landed hugely impressive creative midfielder Dimitri Payet this summer from Marseille.

Yannick Bolasie moved to Crystal Palace in August 2012 and played a key role in helping the South London side to secure a return to the English top tier.

Last term, the flair player proved a real nuisance in the final third and bagged his first Premier League hat-trick when he scored three goals in 11 minutes against Sunderland in April.

Eagles boss Alan Pardew would be loath to lose Bolasie and Crystal Palace are certainly a team on the rise with the Selhurst Park side having already pulled of a real transfer coup this summer when the snapped up PSG midfield general Yohan Cabaye earlier this month.
