Arsenal star admits he is FLATTERED by Barcelona interest, would like to play in Spain

Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey has admitted that he is flattered Barcelona are interested in him, reports the Daily Mirror.

The 24-year-old even claimed that he would like to play in Spain at some point in his career, which will only stoke the fires of the transfer rumour mill. However, there is some hope for Gunners fans, with the Wales international happy to stay with the North London club for the time being.

Ramsey has become a key player for the London outfit in the last two seasons, recovering from a broken leg early in his career to emerge as one of the best midfielders in the top flight. This only makes the comments worse for the club.

“Obviously it’s very flattering,” he said, “They did the treble last year and it’s just really nice to be linked with one of the best clubs in the world.

“One day I would like to go over to Spain to play just to see what it’s like and to experience that. But at the moment I’m with Arsenal and I feel like this Arsenal team can go and be successful and challenge for things.”

Many of Arsene Wenger’s players have left the club for the Nou Camp over the years. Alex Song, Thierry Henry, Thomas Vermaelen, Alexander Hleb, and Emmanuel Petit are just some of the names to have made a switch to the Catalan club. Both sides have a similar style of play, making the Emirates a perfect hunting ground for the Blaugranas.

This news will be a major blow for Arsenal, with the team currently preparing for the new season. It joins the revelation that Danny Welbeck is going to miss the start of the campaign, which will also hinder them as they attempt to mount a Premier League title challenge.
