Manchester United BOOSTED as Real Madrid have bid rejected for Argentina international

Manchester United have been boosted by the news that Real Madrid have had a bid rejected for Lazio star Lucas Biglia, reports the Daily Express.

Los Merengues sawa a £18 million offer for the player turned down. The 29-year-old was recently named club captain, and it appears that Le Aquile aren’t keen to sell. This will be a blow to Bernabeu boss Rafael Benitez, who is yet to improve his starting XI since arriving this summer. The Argentina international could be seen as a replacement for Sami Khedira, who left on a free transfer earlier in the summer.

This could be a boost to the Red Devils, who have been linked with a move for the player. However, after the arrivals of both Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger it is debatable whether Louis van Gaal will be keen to sign another central midfielder.

However, with the extra games from the Champions League, as well as Michael Carrick now being 34-years-old, it may not hurt to further bolster the area. Higher expectations in the Premier League also mean that being able to rotate the squad will be vital in the coming campaign.
