Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers sweating on the fitness of key duo ahead of Manchester United clash

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has delivered an injury update on the fitness of three key players ahead of the massive clash against Manchester United, Mirror Sport reports.

The Merseyside outfit travel to Old Trafford for the Saturday evening kick-off hoping to bounce back from their disappointing 3-0 home defeat at the hands of West Ham United in the fixture just before the international break.

With Philippe Coutinho set to miss the game against the Red Devils through suspension after seeing red for two bookable offences in the game at Anfield, Rodgers is hoping to have Adam Lallana and club captain Jordan Henderson available for selection:

“We’ll see about Henderson and Lallana over next 24hrs,” the Reds boss said in his pre-match press conference.

Daniel Sturridge was back in full training earlier in the week after five months due to hip surgery, however, his manager appeared to rule out the possibility of him returning to action against United:

“Daniel Sturridge returned to training but no timeline on when he will play in games,” Rodgers added.
