Man United alerted as Barcelona star refuses to sign new contract

Manchester United are reportedly on high alert amid claims that Barcelona forward Neymar has resisted calls from his Nou Camp employers to sign a new contract according to the Daily Express.

The 23-year-old Brazilian has been linked with a move to Old Trafford since the summer and this source claims that the Barcelona star would consider a move to the Premier League side.

Neymar’s current contract expires in 2018 and as such there isn’t a massive urgency for the La Liga side to push the former Santos man into signing a new deal.

Given the stunning success Neymar enjoyed as part of a front three including Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, it would be something of a surprise if the attacker would look to leave Barcelona any time soon.

Neymar scored 39 goals in all competitions last season as Luis Enrique’s side clinched an impressive La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League treble.
