Manchester United youngster Luke Shaw appears to be well on the road to recovery as he steps up his comeback from a broken leg he suffered in September.
Fans were treated to an insight into his progress on social media earlier on Saturday when images of him hitting the gym began to circulate.
Shaw hit the town with his United teammates during the week for their early Christmas party and did so without the aid of crutches or the protective boot that he’d been wearing since sustaining the injury in the Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven.
The 20-year-old has been impressing manager Louis van Gaal with his recovery efforts, but the boss stopped short on setting any kind of return date.
“Luke is progressing well and is doing as well as we could have hoped at this stage,” he said.
“We are not putting any timings on his recovery or a return, as it is important we allow nature to take it’s course.
“Luke is working hard during his recuperation to keep his body in the best possible condition. He is receiving plenty of messages of encouragement from supporters, which I know that he appreciates.”
