Chelsea seem to have some sort of aversion to strikers. Having taken the chance on Radamel Falcao over the summer, the Blues are in need of some more firepower since the gamble on the Colombian backfired.
A deal to bring Alexandre Pato to the club on loan is thought to be close to completion, but despite that, reports emerged on Wednesday claiming that Chelsea are being linked with a move for former Arsenal and Manchester United front man Robin van Persie.
Five years ago this may have been a signing capable of making the club unstoppable, but now that he’s passed his best, it seems Blues fans aren’t too keen, to say the least.

@NickMiller79 Van Persie to Chelsea would definitely confirm the existence of a 'Sign till recently world class strikers' policy.
