As reported by Calciomercato, Moratti was leaving a lunch meeting with the Portuguese tactician and her family, and was quizzed by reporters about the former Inter coach’s stay in Italy this weekend.

While she conceded that the family missed him as a person as well as a leader of their team, she ruled out a return to the Nerazzurri but gave away information that she perhaps shouldn’t have.

“No, he’s happy now, he’s going to Manchester,” she replied to a question about never ruling out Mourinho’s return to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The former Chelsea boss will spend the weekend in Milan to watch Inter’s clash with Sampdoria on Saturday night, as well as catch up with Moratti after the pair enjoyed a great relationship during his relatively brief spell in Italy.

Having guided the Beneamata to an historic treble, Mourinho will forever be remembered by Inter supporters, but his future lies elsewhere based on recent speculation.

United contacted his representatives as recently as after Thursday’s loss to Midtjylland in the Europa League, according to Manchester Evening News, with rumours continuing to swirl around Old Trafford about Louis van Gaal’s future at the club.

Whether or not Bedy has let the cat out of the bag prematurely is unclear, as there is no official word from either United or Mourinho’s camp about his next move. Nevertheless, it appears more and more likely that he will resume his feud with incoming Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola next season.
