Schalke 04 forward Leroy Sane has escaped unscathed after being involved in a car crash in Germany.
It has emerged—as reported by Bild—that that 20-year-old lost control of his vehicle—a white Audi R8—in heavy rain on the A3 motorway near Ratingen-Hosel.
The forward’s car skidded on the wet ground, and hit the crash barrier, as confirmed by the motorway police of Dusseldorf.
Speaking to Bild after the incident, the youngster revealed that he was relieved that neither he nor any bystanders were hurt in the incident.
The attacker has been heavily linked with a move away from the German heavyweights in recent transfer windows.
He has constantly been linked with Liverpool—particularly after his compatriot Jurgen Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers—and recently admitted that he dreams of representing Barcelona later in his career.
However, Sane also acknowledged that he wasn’t looking to leave Schalke this summer, so expect Liverpool or Barca to be kept waiting a little while longer.
