Liverpool transfer target offers potentially big clue over his future

Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane has spoken about his future as he admitted he’s not thinking much about a new contract with the club right now, even if he expects talks over a new deal could intensify soon.

The Germany international has been a key player for Bayern since joining from Manchester City a few years ago, but could we see him coming back for a second spell in the Premier League?

Sane has been linked with Liverpool by Catalan publication Sport, as cited and translated by Sport Witness, and one imagines the Reds could do really well to swoop for the 28-year-old if they end up needing to replace the likes of Mohamed Salah or Luis Diaz.

Salah continues to be linked with a possible move to Saudi Arabia by talkSPORT, while Diaz is confirmed to be on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar, as per Jonathan Johnson in his exclusive CaughtOffside column recently.

Sane transfer: What’s the Bayern star said amid Liverpool links?

See below as Fabrizio Romano posts on X about Sane’s latest statement on his future, which will surely be of interest to LFC fans…

Sane would be a big loss if he were to leave Bayern, and it would also be exciting to see him back in English football at some point.

Liverpool would undoubtedly find it hard to replace a legendary figure like Salah on that right-hand side, but Sane is a similarly skilful left-footed attacker from that area of the pitch, and has already previously shown that he can do it in the Premier League.

Sane was a star player for Man City before returning to Germany with Bayern, so we’ll now have to see if he’d be prepared to challenge himself in the English top flight again or if he’ll commit to his current employers in their next round of talks.
