Mourinho identifies problem positions at Manchester United, coach already planning transfer reinforcements

Jose Mourinho is understood to have already identified the areas of the Manchester United first team he’s looking to improve, as he begins to consider his potential summer transfer spending.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Portuguese coach wants no fewer than four signings during the summer, and has already informed the club of the investment he’s looking for.

Louis van Gaal spent a small fortune at Old Trafford last summer, bringing the likes of Memphis Depay, Anthony Martial, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Matteo Darmian to the club.

Their additions, plus the emergence of various talented youngsters, has given United a burgeoning squad.

But Mourinho clearly feels there’s a dearth of quality in key areas, and is looking to recruit in the following positions: centre forward, centre-back, right midfeld and central midfield.

Why are Manchester United ashamed of admitting Mourinho signing?

Clearly, Mourinho clearly feels the squad’s spine needs a great deal of work, which spells bad news for the Red Devils’ plethora of central midfielders, with the likes of Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick, Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin all competing for spots in the heart of the midfield.
