Jurgen Klopp plotting Liverpool overhaul with eight players set for axe

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has big plans for his squad this summer, and that involves offloading deadwood within the group.

The 49-year-old has already been a busy man this summer, with the club confirming deals for the likes of Joel Matip and Sadio Mane.

However, more transfer activity is expected, particularly in terms of players heading out of the exit door which in turn will likely raise further transfer funds to strengthen the squad.

As noted by The Mirror, Liverpool have already released Kolo Toure and Jose Enrique, while Jerome Sinclair has moved on to join Watford.

However, among those that could be joining them based on the report are Christian Benteke and Jordon Ibe who have been linked with exits this week, with Crystal Palace and Bournemouth respectively pushing forward with deals.

Elsewhere, Martin Skrtel is close to agreeing a move to Fenerbahce, while Liverpool remain keen on getting rid of Mario Balotelli who is a reported target for Serie A new boys Crotone, as noted by The Mirror.

Furthermore, the exodus could go on according to the British newspaper, with Wales hero Joe Allen linked with a switch to Sevilla, while Luis Alberto, Sergi Canos and Lucas are all available for transfer if the right deal is proposed.

That in turn would see the club raise significant transfer funds as well as ease their wage bill, and would put them in a stronger position to go out and spend for the rest of the summer looking for players that would significantly improve them.

Having impressed last season, Klopp will undoubtedly be relishing his first full campaign in charge at Anfield, and with the right players at his disposal, his confidence will be growing in terms of his ability to turn the Reds into a Premier League title-winning side.
