Aston Villa investigating latest Jack Grealish controversy as another laughing gas storm erupts

Aston Villa starlet Jack Grealish could be set for fresh disciplinary action after it was reported that he was involved in another laughing gas-fuelled night out.

The 21-year-old was involved in a similar incident in April last year, and had to apologise to then-manager Tim Sherwood for his actions, although he was then pictured drunk on the streets of Tenerife last summer.

According to The Daily Mail, his off-the-field antics could be about to land him in hot water again as it is alleged that he held a ‘raucous party’ at a Birmingham hotel following Villa’s draw with Ipswich Town last Saturday.

The report adds that Grealish and his friends upset fellow guests at the hotel, and that the party ‘featured balloons containing nitrous oxide’.

In turn, a spokesperson from Villa has since released the following statement: “The club are aware of allegations regarding an incident at the weekend which we are investigating internally.”

If true, it will be another disappointing setback for the 21-year-old, who has been given an important role by Roberto Di Matteo since the Italian’s arrival earlier this summer.

Few doubt the ability that Grealish possesses even though it’s arguably not been shown consistently enough to this point, but his behaviour away from the pitch could see him ultimately waste his talent before his career even gets started.

It remains to be seen what the club’s investigation finds and what action that they decide to take, but ultimately the reputation has been built by Grealish and it’s not a positive image for him to have at his age if he harbours ambitions of getting to the top for both club and country.
