Arsenal boss says Mesut Ozil now has ‘taste’ for goals

Arsenal crushed Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets 6-0 at the Emirates in the Champions League on Match Day 3.

Mestut Ozil is renowned for his assist providing ability but he has turned over a new leaf this season and has started to establish himself as a prolific goal scorer as well.

Ozil scored a hat-trick over the course of the game but still found room for an assist – directly contributing to four of the Gunners six goals.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was full of praise for the 28-year-old after the game and underlined that Ozil now has a taste for goal.

“He looks like he has got a taste for scoring goals,” Wenger was quoted as saying by the Telegraph.

“He goes more behind, before he liked only to come to the ball and provide.

“We want him to be a provider and a scorer; it looks like he is slowly moving to that better balance.”

Ozil has scored six goals for the North London based outfit this season just two fewer than his best return over the course of a season since joining on a club record breaking fee from Real Madrid in 2013.

The Gunners moved into first place in Group A following the victory – overtaking PSG on goal difference.
