Flashy Liverpool must win physical battle to avoid another Palace slip-up

Liverpool face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in today’s late game, in what should be a straightforward win for the Reds. Jurgen Klopp’s side are in top form, coming into the game on the back of five wins and a draw in their last five games.

But Liverpool must not underestimate Crystal Palace, who have a won 3 and drawn 1 of their last 6 games against the Merseyside club. Palace are a team on the up after a slow start, and Selhurst Park will be rocking against a team that they’ve seen lose in South London several times in recent years. The fact that the game is a 5.30 kickoff will only amplify the atmosphere.

Alan Pardew will send out his side to try and fight their way into the game from the first whistle. Liverpool will be relying on Emre Can and Jordan Henderson to show no fear in dominating the middle of the field. Allowing an in form Palace to build up a head of steam in front of their own fans could be very costly.
