Manchester United legend Gary Neville has revealed why Liverpool are one of the favourites to win the 2016-17 Premier League title.
The Sky Sports pundit admitted that the Reds will “take some stopping” and thinks they can end what will be a 27-year wait for the crown this season.
Liverpool topped the Premier League table for the first time in over two years following their 6-1 win over Watford last weekend and Jurgen Klopp’s side have already racked up 30 goals this term.
“They are both confident and they are going to take some stopping because of the fact they have got free weeks and they have got preparation time,” Neville was quoted as saying by the Metro.
“I think at the moment do I trust any of them to say that you’re going to win the league? I’d say no.
“But I think looking at those two they’re going to take some stopping with the fact that preparation time is key for those teams and we have seen it in the past.”
Liverpool have already defeated both Arsenal and Chelsea away from home this season. Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently top of the league table with 26 points after 11 games. Liverpool take on Southampton next weekend before hosting Sunderland.
