(Video) Sturridge nails superb header for England v Scotland as Liverpool striker proves he’s still got it despite club snubs

Daniel Sturridge racked up three consecutive England starts for the first time since 2014 on Friday night.

And the Liverpool striker has marked the occasion by giving England the lead against Scotland in this evening’s World Cup qualifier at Wembley.

Sturridge’s eighth senior England goal – his third of 2016 – came with his head following a fine cross by Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker.

Spurs star Walker has been a regular for his club this season, but Sturridge has regularly found himself on the bench for Liverpool.

Sturridge has started just four of Liverpool’s 11 Premier League matches so far this term, appearing a further four times as a substitute.

He has yet to score in the Prem, but he has netted four times in two League Cup outings.
