Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has been left the England international camp after picking up an injury, according to the Express.

Per-the-source, Rooney was ruled out of England’s friendly encounter with Spain at Wembley tomorrow after suffering a injury to his knee.

The experienced striker was allowed to leave the camp in order to receive further treatment.

Rooney was included in Gareth Southgate’s starting line-up which defeated Scotland by a 3-0 scoreline on Friday.

The 31-year-old striker has managed to score just two goals in all competitions for United this season.

Man United take on their title rivals Arsenal in their next Premier League fixture this weekend. Jose Mourinho’s side returned to winning ways last week following a 3-1 victory over Swansea City.

The Red Devils find themselves in sixth place with 18 points after 11 games. Arsenal meanwhile are unbeaten in 15 games and are in forth place, two points behind league leaders Liverpool.
