Man United’s big winter transfer suddenly looking less likely

Manchester United’s move for Victor Lindelof looked all but done, but according to the Sun the move may not be sealed quite yet.

The dispute is not with United themselves but between Lindelof’s club Benfica and Vasteras, the Swedish club he joined them from.

According to the Sun, Lindelof’s former team want £212,000 in bonuses relating to the Champions League – the very competition where the defender has been turning heads.

Ultimately, given the tens of millions United are set to pay for the Swede, this sum is relatively small, and shouldn’t prove to be too much of a snag if the three clubs really want to get the deal over the line.

While Lindelof’s talent is clear for all to see, with Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling all battling for selection, we might see an exit or two from Old Trafford in the near future too, with no shortage of suitors for these top level players.
