West Ham transfer news: Slaven Bilic prepares £9M bid as he looks to secure the services of Hull City defender

West Ham United are planning a £9 million move for Hull City defender Harry Maguire, according to The Sun.

Maguire is a product of the Sheffield United academy, and fast established himself as an important member of their first-team squad. He made 166 appearances for the Blades before moving to Hull City in the summer of 2014.

He made just three Premier League appearances in his debut season for Hull, but greatly benefited from their relegation to the Championship on a personal level. It allowed the 23-year-old an opportunity to force his way into the starting eleven, and since he has, it has been evident that he is there to stay.

The Englishman is enjoying a stellar season for the Tigers this time around, and it appears to have captured the attention of one of their Premier League counterparts. As per The Sun, West Ham are preparing a £9 million bid as they look to secure Maguire’s services this month. It remains to be seen whether a move will materialise before the window slams shut in a few days time.
