Chelsea are prepared to make Eden Hazard the best-paid player in the Premier League to keep him out the clutches of Real Madrid, according to The Sun.
There can be few arguments that Hazard is one of the best players in England, and one of the most entertaining attackers in the world. The Belgian international will be looking to forget his stuttering 2015/16 campaign, but has well and truly been back to his best so far this term.
Hazard has found the back of the net 11 times in England’s top tier, and has four assists to go along with that. His electric form doesn’t appear to have gone unnoticed.
According to The Sun, La Liga giants Real Madrid are interested in signing Hazard in the summer transfer window. However, Chelsea will not part with their star man without putting up a fight. The Sun believe that the Blues will offer Hazard a a £15.6million-a-year deal, which equates to £300,000-a-week, to try and convince him to remain at Stamford Bridge. It remains to be seen whether money is Hazard’s primary motivator.
