Manchester United fans plan protest at key club figure at Burnley game

Manchester United fans are reportedly planning to fly a banner from a plane calling for Ed Woodward’s head at Old Trafford when they face Burnley next weekend.

The Red Devils have endured a tricky start to the new season, earning a somewhat unconvincing 2-1 win over Leicester City on the opening day of the season before losing 3-2 to Brighton in their second match.

While United manager Jose Mourinho has been in the spotlight for failing to get the best out of this team, it seems many of the club’s fans are siding with the Portuguese, to a degree.

According to the Mail, the target of fans’ anger is the board, with Woodward set to be targeted on their banner, as well as the club owners – the Glazer family.

It certainly seems fair to demand more from the MUFC ownership, who seemed reluctant to back their manager in the transfer market this summer.

United look weak in some key areas a result, with no new central defenders brought in, meaning Mourinho must continue to work with below-par players like Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones.
