Chelsea manager hails ‘heroes’ Terry and Lampard

David Bowie sang about being heroes for just one day, although Chelsea manager Avram Grant has given John Terry and Frank Lampard that tag indefinitely after they helped beat the mighty League One team Huddersfield 3-1 on Saturday. Sporting Life reports that the Israeli is delighted that the pair have returned for the business end of the Blues’ season, hoping this can help his team land all types of silverware.

“They deserve to be the heroes of the club because of what they give to the team,” insists Grant. “The relationship is not one way between the supporters and the players and manager. We give to them, they give to us. They support us, we support them.

“It is easier when the supporters are behind you. They will always be here and I like it when they respect the players who give them so much.”

This week will go a long way in determining the outcome of Chelsea’s season, with the FA Cup draw being made on Monday, their match at Olympiakos on Tuesday and the Carling Cup final on Sunday. Will their quadruple dream still be alive by the end of the week?
