Sunderland boss prepared to axe 15 players this summer: Now this is cleaning house!

Sunderland boss Roy Keane isn’t one to be messed with this summer, especially after he made it known that he’s prepared to get rid of up to 15 players to fund his proposed £50m transfer budget.

The Mirror is reporting that Keane isn’t too impressed with where his squad currently is at the moment, so he’s prepared to bring in bright shiny stars for next season that could make the club a contender for mid-table glory (if there is such a thing)!

Roy Keane has started a clearout that could see up to 15 players quit.

The Sunderland boss wants to spend £50million on stars such as Damien Duff, Julio Arca, Stephen Ireland, Kevin Doyle, Nicky Shorey and Jonny Evans. But Ian Harte, Stephen Wright, Andy Cole and Stan Varga have been released.

And Ross Wallace, Paul McShane, Anthony Stokes, David Connolly and Liam Miller may quit. (Mirror)

Do Sunderland supporters think Keane has a shot at turning 15 players into £50m? Or is the former Manchester United legend dreaming of a transfer budget that will never happen?
