Rafa wants this impressive youngster, and even though the price may have been increased, Liverpool may still put a bid in.
Newcastle are driving a harder bargain for James Milner. Rafael Benitez, the Liverpool manager, rates the winger highly, but is reluctant to meet Newcastle’s £7m-plus valuation. (Independent)
I think even at this new increased price, this is still a bargain. Consider the fact that Jermaine Pennant cost £6.7m and then, all of a sudden, the price for the 22-year-old United man doesn’t seem so much. On his day, the former Leeds man can be a very good player indeed, capable of beating his man and delivering excellent crosses, consistency may be his biggest failing but he is still well worth investing in as he has bags of potential. Do Liverpool fans rate Milner as a worthy addition to their squad?
