It looks as if Liverpool boss Benitez has relented and decided to accept Portsmouth’s bid for England international striker Peter Crouch, but as he does so has he made his biggest mistake as Anfield supremo?
Peter Crouch finally landed his move to Portsmouth yesterday after the south coast club relented over his valuation and had a £10million bid accepted by Liverpool.
Throughout months of uncertainty over his future, the striker has insisted he would consider quitting Anfield only for Fratton Park. (Mail on Sunday)
I am a huge fan of the Spaniard and everyone can see just how much of an impact he has made on the Merseyside club and I believe they are inching every nearer to that long awaited Premier League title, however I think the protracted saga that has been the on/off sale of Crouch could well be a mistake. The former Pompey man has been a model of professionalism throughout his time at the club, he took a while to get going but he is pretty much loved by most of the clubs faithful and loyal following however he seemingly has little part to play in Benitez’s future plans and hence his imminent move to Fratton Park, however the former Valencia man may have been a little to hasty in his decision making in this instance and it could be a decision that he regrets. Do Liverpool fans think that Crouchy got a fair crack of the whip at the club?
