Finally, Benitez seems to have almost gotten rid of two players he definitely CAN afford to lose!
Two foreigners on their way out of Liverpool are striker Andriy Voronin and keeper Charles Itandje.
The Reds rejected Galatasaray’s initial bid of £2.5m for Ukrainian Voronin last week.
Benitez has told them he wants an extra £500,000 and the Turkish side are expected to bow to his wishes in the coming days.
Third-choice keeper Itandje is set to sign a season-long loan deal with Lille after his own move to the Istanbul outfit collapsed. (The People)
Having already taken Harry Kewell off their hands, Liverpool must be very happy to do with business with Turkish giants Galatasaray as they look to snap up Anfield’s hit-and-miss Ukrainian forward. It’s a shame Itandje couldn’t have made it a hat-trick and joined his team-mates in Istanbul, but a move to Lille may help revive a career that has taken a big knock during a stuttering spell at the Merseyside club. Do Liverpool fans think there are any other bits of deadwood at the club who Rafa should have removed as soon as possible?
