My what a difference a couple of days make! For Liverpool those couple of days have been nothing short of nirvana. After struggling early against Stoke, Liverpool came out guns-a-blazin’ against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The resulting pressure and high quality football equated to a win that will go down as one of the greatest in club history. Not only did they become the first club to defeate Chelsea at home since 2004, they also took over the top spot in the league.
Pompey seemed to be well on their way to once again making a run at a top six spot in the league. Whilst they still might make it to the upper echelon by the end of the season, it could get a whole lot tougher without manager Harry Redknapp. ‘Arry left in a hurry when Tottenham gave Juande Ramos the boot, and now here they are, stocked with players from Redknapp’s time with the club and a new coach. Did we mention they now have to go play at Anfield against the top team in the league? (I love saying that!)
Adversity will be at an all-time when the club takes the pitch today.
So who wins the match? Are you going with Liverpool’s home advantage, or do you think Pompey steals points?
