The agent of PSG midfielder Marco Verratti has dismissed speculation linking his client with a move to Napoli according to Tutto Mercato Web.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is known to be a firm admirer of the player and has expressed his feelings publically on a number of occasions.

Reports in recent weeks had suggested that the Italian midfielder could be set for a move from PSG to Napoli in a deal that would see Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani travel in the opposite direction.

The 20 year old midfielder joined PSG last summer from Italian side Pescara and is becoming one of the hottest prospects in Europe after a number of impressive displays for the Ligue 1 side.

But Verratti’s agent, Donato Di Campli, has poured cold water on speculation regarding a possible return to Italy.

The player’s representative insisted that Verratti would remain excluded from any deal that brought Cavani to the French capital.

Di Campli insisted that if PSG wanted to sign Cavani, the Qatari-backed club have the resources to buy the player outright and would not need to include a player as part of the deal.

The agent went on to point out that PSG chief Leonardo has never spoken of any desire to sign the Uruguayan striker.
