Craig Goodwin set to spend two weeks at the Premier League club.
Reading are set to offer a trial to young Australian player Craig Goodwin according to Sporting Life.
The 21 year old defender has been in outstanding form for his Newcastle Jets side and has put in a number of impressive performances in the A-League.
The full-back has apparently done enough to get himself a chance to earn a Premier League contract.
Reading have invited the player to their training facilities as they look to take a closer look at him.
Goodwin could not conceal his delight about having received the offer. The defender stated that he could not put into words how happy he was with the offer. He pointed out that these chances are not an everyday occurrence and that he was very grateful for the chance to prove himself at the highest level.
Goodwin insisted he was not expecting anything from Reading but wanted to learn as much as he could and enjoy the experience.
The Australian will join up with his compatriots Adam Federici and Ryan Edwards at the Madejski Stadium.
Should Goodwin join the club, he is almost certain to find himself playing Championship football next season with the club looking likely to suffer relegation from the Premier League.
