Former AC Milan Goalkeeper Dismisses QPR Star Transfer Rumours

Former AC Milan goalkeeper believes club already have better options available to them.

Former AC Milan goalkeeper Massimo Taibi has questioned reports linking the club with a move for QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar according to Tutto Mercato Web.

Cesar has been in fine form for QPR since arriving on a free transfer from Inter Milan last summer.

But his impressive performances have not proved enough to steer QPR clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

The club are seven points from safety with just six games left to play and QPR know they will have to let go a number of their high profile stars should they find themselves playing Championship football next season.

Cesar is likely to be one of the first out of the Loftus Road dressing room with AC Milan reportedly willing to offer the Brazilian goalkeeper a route back to Italy.

The claims were denied by Cesar who insisted he could never play for his former club Inter’s bitter rivals.

But Taibi has questioned why the club would even want him in the first place. Taibi pointed out that the club already have a strong goalkeeper in the form of Christian Abbiati.

Taibi, who enjoyed a brief spell at Manchester United, went on to point out the Abbiati’s understudy Marco Amelia is also a good goalkeeper who probably deserved more playing time meaning there is little need to add Cesar to the AC Milan ranks.
