Incredibly, Spurs once paid £15million for David Bentley, and will now struggle to offload the attacking midfielder. The 28-year-old has had numerous loan spells at Birmingham City, West Ham, Blackburn Rovers and even a short-lived spell in Russia with FC Rostov. Another player formerly of Arsenal that has somehow managed to fool Spurs into signing him, but who they will now be desperate to get rid of if anyone will take him. With his contract expiring at the end of next season, they may have to wait and keep hold of him a little longer, as it’s hard to see why anyone would want to spend significant money on this flop.
