Anfield boss believes the club are ready to challenge the Premier League’s best.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has told talkSport he believes the club will finish in the top four next season.
Rodgers arrived at the club from Swansea last summer and the club have played good football for the most part this season.
Inconsistencies mean the Merseyside club will have to settle for a seventh place finish which means the team will not be playing any kind of European football next year.
But that may well suit the club who can now concentrate on performing strongly in the Premier League.
Rodgers added Brazilian midfielder Phillipe Coutinho and former Chelsea and Manchester City striker Daniel Sturridge to his squad during the January transfer window and both players have performed well since their arrival.
Rodgers believes a few more astute signings over the summer months could propel the club up in to higher echelons of the Premier League.
The Anfield boss may find his plans hampered however by the club’s financial constraints. Rodgers has been told he will have just £20 million to spend on new recruits this summer despite needing to replace the retiring Jamie Carragher at centre back.
Additional funds could be raised through the sale of Luis Suarez but it is thought that Rodgers is keen to build a team around the controversial Uruguayan.
