PSG youngster sparks talk of potential move.
Marco Verratti has sparked the internet of a number of Italian clubs after revealing he wants to play in Serie A according to Goal.com.
The youngster moved to PSG last summer from Italian side Pescara before he had the opportunity to appear in the Italian top flight and the player has revealed he is keen to test himself in his homeland’s top division.
Verratti has been highly impressive in his debut season for PSG as he helped the Qatari-backed side to the Ligue 1 title.
The midfielder was also instrumental in his club’s Champions League run which saw them reach the quarter-finals before eventually being knocked out by a Leo Messi-inspired Barcelona.
Verratti joined the club as an advanced playmaker but PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to play him in a deeper role has led many to dub the youngster as ‘the next Andrea Piro’.
It may be Pirlo that Verratti ends up replacing should he fulfil his dream of playing in Serie A. Juventus have been linked with a move for the player in the last few months and are one of the few clubs in Italy who would be able to afford Verratti.
Should Verratti become available, Real Madrid are likely to provide competition for his signature as they have made no secret of their admiration for the starlet.
