Departing Arsenal playmaker Andrey Arshavin has the pick of the bunch as a number of clubs across Europe are lining up for his signature, according to Sky Sports.

The 32-year-old is entering his final month of his contract with the north London side and has been told that he can find employment elsewhere as Arsene Wenger plans a dramatic overhaul of his squad in an attempt to end the club’s crippling trophy drought.

The diminutive Russian has been linked with a return to his former club Zenit St Petersburg, however, his agent, Scott Fisher, claims that there are several options on the table.

“Besiktas? No comment. No we have some possibilities; there are interested teams from different countries,” Fisher told Russian website sports.ru.

“Andrey is on holiday at the moment so we’ll discuss the current situation this weekend. Can he go back to Russia? There’s a chance for this. But we have to discuss all possibilities and we have to find out what is the best for Andrey.

“He’s still very ambitious. He’s a great footballer in a good age and ready to play. Money is not the most important criteria. He’s ready for new challenges and he’s ready to play.”

Fisher also hinted that clubs able to offer European football may be in the driving seat when the time comes to negotiate.

“We have lots of possibilities but I can admit that it is European football that is really interesting,” he said.

“Champions League or Europa League – these are great competitions.”
