French club keen to persuade Italian star to put pen to paper.
Marco Verratti’s agent has insisted that PSG are ready to offer his client a new contract according to Goal.com.
The Italian youngster enjoyed a highly impressive debut season in France as he helped the club to secure the Ligue 1 title.
When Verratti was signed from Pescara last summer in deal worth £10 million, it was widely expected that he was a signing for the future but the midfielder forced his way into the PSG first team and has made the position his own.
Those performances have not gone unnoticed with a number of top European sides thought to be monitoring his availability.
Juventus have previously been linked with the player’s signature while more recently, Real Madrid have been suggested as showing an interest in the player.
That has prompted PSG to open contract talks with the youngster as they are keen to ensure Verratti is secured to the French capital on a long term basis.
Verratti and his agent are hoping to use the interest from Real in order to secure an improved pay package for the Italian international.
But that is unlikely to prove an obstacle as the wealthy French club have acknowledged Verratti’s increased stature within the squad over the last twelve months.
