Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway is keen to strengthen his Eagles squad ahead of what could prove a challenging season in the Premier League and has set his sights on West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie according to the Daily Mail.

The 31 year old Nigerian international became something of a figure of ridicule after his attempts to force a move to QPR failed to cement a Hawthorns exit. These attempts of course included the striker driving to Loftus Road on transfer deadline day, under the impression that he was too intents and purposes already a Super Hoops signing.

It’s an act that Baggies fans have not forgiven the former Lokomotiv Moscow man for and led to Odemwingie being frozen out of first team action by boss Steve Clarke.

Holloway may well see the chance to bring in the experienced forward on the cheap but Swansea City are also said to be keen on the West Brom man.

Crystal Palace had no problems finding the back of the net last term, scoring 73 in 46 Championship matches in 2012/13, however 30 of those came via 29 year old Glenn Murray and there is guarantee that the former Brighton man will be able to come anywhere near replicating that form in the Premier League.

For all Odemwingie’s faults he is a proven Premier League marksman, having scored 30 goals in 87 top tier appearances, a record that is all the more impressive when you consider 20 of those appearances came from the bench.
