Villa new boy believes he made the right choice.
New Aston Villa defender Jores Okore believes that he made the right decision in turning down Chelsea to complete a move to the West Midlands, Sky Sports reports.
The 20-year-old Danish international penned a four-year deal with Paul Lambert’s men this week and he revealed that he could have linked up with Chelsea instead.
The European champions had been keen on Okore all the way back in January when he turned down on original approach, feeling that he wouldn’t play as much as he would at Nordsjaelland, and the Blues were still interested this time around.
However, Okore didn’t hesitate to turn them down a second time and cites Paul Lambert as one of the main reasons behind his decision to join the Villans.
“I have a good feeling it was the right decision to turn down Chelsea,” Okore told Danish website Sporten.dk.
“I feel that I have arrived at a club that believes in me.
“The manager has said all the right things and that has caught my attention. This is going to be good.”
His previous club, FC Nordsjaelland have praised the player and have spoke of their delight at being able to produce such a sought after future star.
“We are really proud of the fact that our huge investment on talent work is paying off with a huge transfer to the biggest league in the world,” sporting director Jan Laursen told the club’s website.
“Jores will now be a role model for all of our other talented players.”
