Manchester United could sign Thiago for £15.4 million.
Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara will tell the club that he wants to move away from the Nou Camp and join up with Manchester United, Goal.com reports.
The midfielder is one of the most highly-rated young players in Europe at the moment and Barcelona were hoping to blood him into their first team.
However, Thiago has struggled to get into Barca’s first team and believes that he needs to be playing first team football in order to be part of Spain’s squad for next summers World Cup.
Thiago has already agreed personal terms with Manchester United and Barcelona will have to accept United’s bid of £15.4 million because it activates the players buy-out clause.
United believe that they will complete a deal for Thiago soon despite reported interest from Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich.
Barcelona have privately given up hope of keeping the midfielder at the club despite saying he will have more first team opportunities next season.
Thiago is not willing to listen as he believes their are two many established players blocking his path and thinks he will be better off at Old Trafford.
The midfielder is set to become David Moyes first major signing as Manchester United manager, with the Scot officially starting his term at Old Trafford on Monday.
