Five Flops Arsenal Must Sell This Summer

This £5.5m signing from Monaco in August 2011 does leave a lot of questions to be asked about Wenger’s reasoning at times. He may be captain of South Korea but the striker was never going to be good enough to pull on the famous Arsenal jersey, fortunately he’s only done so once in the Premier League. Gunners supporters point out that the 28-year-old was probably signed to sell shirts in his native country and the Far East and there are some suggestions to indicate this was this case, despite how churlish it may sound. Certainly his six performances on the pitch have given no clear indications to why Wenger decided to sign him and in truth the French boss has to regret this flop signing. Young spent last season in La Liga on loan with Celta Viga after falling to gain regular football at the Emirates. A recent match report described him as a ‘total failure’ as he struggled with just four goals in his 24 games for the club which sounds about right. There is some hope that the Spanish side might come in with a bargain offer for the Korean forward this summer and it is likely if they did he would be sold after the club’s board wrote off the transfer fee to cover the misfits wages.
