Five Flops Arsenal Must Sell This Summer

Gervinho

Some Arsenal supporters say the Ivory Coast international winger has unfulfilled potential in England while others suggest that he would be best suited to playing as far away possible from the Emirates Stadium. He certainly divides opinion and the 26-year-old former Lille man has enjoyed mixed fortunes at the club. However with only nine goals in his 45 matches for the Gunners since joining in August 2011, the statistics tell one story; Wenger should try to sell Gervinho this summer. The French boss still rates the forward and his dynamic performance in the recent Africa Cup of Nations tournament gives some indication as to why. But he’s yet to product that level of performance in North London. With several European sides reportedly interested in the attacker there is little to go against the assumption that it is time to let Gervinho leave. Galatasaray, Lyon and Juventus had all been suggested as new homes for the little Ivorian but recent reports suggest that Roma are now leading the race. The player, who has been left out of Wenger’s pre-season tour of Asia, could now make the move to Rome in a £7m transfer. No Arsenal fan will be questioning that move if it comes to fruition this summer.
