Reports suggest that Cardiff have had a bid accepted by Toulouse for Etienne Capoue.
Cardiff City are favourites to sign highly rated Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue, with the Welsh club having had a bid accepted by the Ligue 1 side, Goal.com reports.
Capoue has been linked with several top European clubs this summer but it now appears that Cardiff have leapt ahead of all of them as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of missing out on Tom Ince.
Toulouse chairman Olivier Sadran hinted that while there is interest from other clubs for Capoue, Cardiff are at the front of the cue to sign the midfielder.
“The clubs interested in Etienne have to know we will not accept any offer inferior to the one from Cardiff,” he told L’Equipe.
Capoue has been linked with several Premier League sides such as Tottenham and Arsenal but could become Cardiff boss Malky Mackay’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of record signing Andreas Cornelius.
The Welsh club were close to signing Blackpool winger Tom Ince but the youngster decided to stay at Bloomfield Road, where his father Paul is manager.
Now Cardiff have moved for the highly rated Capoue as they attempt to strengthen their squad for the clubs first season in the Premier League.
