Red’s dream of Madrid friendly

Melbourne Heart Coach John Aloisi wants to follow in the footbsteps of his sides biggest rivals and showcase the clubs talents against the best in the world.

Victory had great success playing Liverpool in front of 95,000 fans at the MCG, an A-League all stars side also hosted Manchester United during their pre-season tour.

Speaking to Radio Sport National, as quoted on Goal.com, Aloisi speculated on the prospect of seeing some of the worlds finest footballers  grace the AAMI stadium.

He said: “it would be great, that’s out of my hands, it’s more to do with the people upstairs. If they could get someone like that, not only a Chelsea or a Tottenham, but a Real Madrid or a Barcelona, too see someone like Messi to come to Australia, that would be something else.”

“I don’t think it would happen this pre-season but maybe next pre-season.”

Barcelona will be travelling to Malaysia and Thailand for their pre-season tour, so a trip to Australia, sooner rather than later, for the Spanish giants isn’t inconceivable.

Heart decided to stay local for the majority of pre-season, having been offered tours in New Zealand and Indoneisia.

They will be playing Brisbane Roar, Adelaide United and Perth Glory in pre-season friendlies, before the season opener against their city rivals on October 12th
