The former Arsenal striker thinks that it is strange that Suarez would choose to leave Liverpool for the Gunners.
Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes that Luis Suarez should reject a move to the Emirates and stay with Liverpool, BBC Sport reports.
Suarez desperately wants to leave Liverpool for a club playing in the Champions League and recently said that he is flattered to be linked with Arsenal.
The Gunners have already had two bids turned down for the striker, one reportedly a £40 million plus £1 offer that was designed to activate Suarez release clause.
Although Wright would welcome the Uruguayan to the Emirates, he can’t understand why the striker would leave Liverpool for the Gunners.
“I’d welcome him at Arsenal with open arms,” Wright told BBC Sport.
“But if I was Suarez, when you look at everything, it does seem strange he would want to go to Arsenal. I would give Liverpool another season.”
Arsenal have made Suarez their main target this summer, with Arsene Wenger desperate to sign a quality striker that will help the Gunners compete with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea at the top of the Premier League.
However, Liverpool are refusing to sell Suarez to a Premier League rival and have said that it will take a bid of over £50 million for them to consider selling the Uruguayan.
