Anfield custodian looks to secure Nou Camp switch.
Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina has no intention of returning to Anfield following his season long loan spell at Napoli and a deal is being finalised that will see the Spaniard move to Barcelona next summer according to the Daily Star.
The 30 year old custodian is upset at the manner with which he feels he was treated by Liverpool, who he feels forced him out to join Napoli on a temporary deal, one he hadn’t plan on making. A move to send the experienced keeper to the Serie A side was clearly motivated by Brendan Rodgers bringing in Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
Reina, who has made 394 appearances for Liverpool, will now seemingly look to clinch a long awaited return to Barcelona having left the Nou Camp in 2002 to join Villarreal and subsequently moved to Merseyside in July 2005.
Given that long serving first choice keeper Victor Valdes is out of contract next summer there seems every chance Reina will secure his move back to the Catalan he represented as a youth, though only managing 49 senior appearances for the La Liga side.
