Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts
Paris St Germain coach Laurent Blanc has said that he is still interested in signing Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye and could make a move for him later in the transfer window, Goal.com reports.
Cabaye has been heavily linked with a move away from St James’s Park this summer, with both PSG and Monaco thought to be considering a bid for the French international.
Manchester United are also thought to be interested in Cabaye, with the midfielder revealing that he would be interested in a move to Old Trafford.
Blanc has made no secret of his admiration for Cabaye but knows that he can’t make a move for the midfielder unless some current PSG players depart the Parc des Princes.
“He’s a very good player,” Blanc told Le Parisien. “I haven’t changed my opinion. For the moment, he’s at Newcastle.
“I also read that Tottenham are interested in him. Newcastle, Tottenham, or Paris – I hope that he’ll still be at a big club in September.”
Cabaye is thought to be unsettled at St James’s Park following a disappointing campaign by the Magpies last season.
The club were nearly relegated from the Premier League and it is thought that Cabaye would like to move to a club that is challenging for trophies on a regular basis.
Manchester United look set to miss out on their main transfer target, Cesc Fabregas, meaning they may make a move for Cabaye before the end of the transfer window.
