Liverpool flop winger Oussama Assaidi looks set for a loan switch to Queens Park Rangers this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Moroccan has failed to impress at Anfield since his £2.4million move from SC Heerenveen last summer, and has continuously been linked with a move back to Holland this summer, with Feyenoord and PSV both reportedly interested. QPR are looking to give Assaidi an England lifeline by bringing him in on loan this season, as he hopes to revitalise his career.

Manager Harry Redknapp is hoping his QPR side bounce back this season and go straight back up into the Premier League at the first time of asking. Having lost Loic Remy on loan to Newcastle, and many more names looking increasingly likely to leave Loftus Road, he will have to act fast this summer if he wishes to replace those looking to leave.

Competition for places at Liverpool is tough, with Luis Alberto, Raheem Sterling and Jordan Ibe all above the 24-year old in the pecking order at the club, it would be in both parties best interest if he seeks pastures new. A good season on loan at QPR could lead to a move elsewhere for Assaidi, and also gives the Reds some decent sell on value.

Redknapp has been actively searching for a winger to help their promotion push, and had lined up a £4million deal for Blackpool winger Matty Phillips, but with an injury to his arm, Phillips will miss a considerable amount of time this season, so Redknapp is looking at other options.
