Newcastle and Arsenal target Florian Thauvin is available for just £13million this summer, reports the Daily Express.

Both Premier League clubs were tracking the talented youngster last season while he was at Bastia, before his £3million move to Lille in January, and have continued to keep tabs on his progress, and are ready to make improved bids for him this summer, with a well-placed source claiming that Lille would be ready to sell him for £13million this summer.

“What could happen is that Lille say, ‘OK, we will sell him but only for €15m (£13m)’. You see, at the end of the day, they [Marseille] do not want him that much.” A club source told La Provence following Marseille’s rejected bid of £7.5million. Lille director Frederic Paquet has dismissed speculation that Thauvin could be set to leave the club, before he makes a senior appearance for them.

“We’ve always been very clear — his departure has never been either considered or conceivable.” Paquet said. The Daily Mail are reporting that Lille’s asking price for Thauvin has dropped to £8million, and Newcastle are ready to make a renewed bid for the 20-year old. Lacking some depth in the midfield, the Toon are ready to meet the asking price.

Heavily featured in France’s U20 World Cup squad, Thauvin has burst onto the international scene following a string of impressive performances for Bastia last season, which included 7 goals in 12 appearances during his loan move back to the club.
